Kinston Looking for Chemistry Early On
Kinston has been a great program in North Carolina the past several years, with several top recruits coming in and out of the program. There isn't a doubt, head coach Perry Tyndall has done a great job of coaching for the Vikings.
After winning back to back 2A state championships, with last year coming against Cuthbertson, the Vikings once again have the target on their backs and are getting everyone's best shot when they come to town.
On the season, the Vikings are 6-1 in the season, with their only loss coming against South Central a few weeks ago and conference play coming right around the corner
After losing several key players like Denzel Keyes and Josh Dawson, this group is still having to mesh and learn how to play together early on. This team, led by Rivals100 Brandon Ingram, has had a different make up as a team this year, learning to become more talkative as a group and learning the strengths and weaknesses of each teammate.
There are always growing pains when losing key players like the Vikings have from last year, but doesn't seem to bother the head coach early on.
Tyndall hasn't been in this position in the past years with his experienced players, but there isn't a doubt in his mind of what this team could possibly do this season.
He has had to put in a few more hours and worked a little harder to get this group in shape for another run at a championship, but he seems to be pleased early on with his squad.
After Kinston had played against the UNC JV team last a week ago, NCPreps caught up with the coach afterwards to discuss the early season and what has it been like early on.
