The entries for the cross country championships are now in and the schools and individuals are set for the competition next weekend. In the 3A, Durham Academy is the favorite to win the title. The Cavaliers are strong from top to bottom with Carl Ward and brother, Fred. Carl's top run this year was a 15:53 while Fred ran a 16:02. Cary Academy's Thomas Graham has the third top time in the triangle area with a 15:15. In the 2A, Cary Christian's Bobby Mintz has a 5K best of 15:58. He will be the favorite to win the 1A/2A individual state title.
